YEAR VISITED: 2008 & 2020

FAVORITE CITIES AND EXPERIENCES: In 2020 we stayed a week at a resort just over the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border on the Delaware River. From there we ventured out on various day trips. One of our adventures was to the city of Hopatcong. Fittingly enough, we stopped for sub sandwiches at a Jersey Mikes and then took a picnic lunch to Hopatcong State Park.

Once there we enjoyed a beautiful July day relaxing at the lake. The park had a lengthy walking trail, a playground, a nature reserve area, and of course a sandy beach on the lake.

While on a month long road trip, a little rest and relaxation in the sunshine proved to be exactly what the doctor ordered.
STADIUMS AND/OR SPORTING EVENTS: We have not attended any sporting events in New Jersey.
ADVENTURE(S): In 2008 I connected with my high school friend Adam. At the time he worked in Philadelphia but lived in New Jersey. One of our adventures together was to Atlantic City. Unfortunately, other than the fact we nearly spent the entire night in a casino, I don’t remember many of the specifics. However, I do remember feeling saddened to see the extreme poverty directly across the street from the many lavish casinos. I have not come across another city in America that better represents Capitalism than Atlantic City.
